Job Description
This role is for an Inside Sales Representative at a Houston-based industrial distribution company. The position focuses on quoting and closing sales while providing excellent customer service and building strong relationships with customers and internal teams. The representative will handle customer inquiries, provide product information, manage online inventory and email communication, and collaborate with support and account management teams to drive sales and meet team goals. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly motivated, and experienced in industrial valve sales.
Responsibilities:
- Respond to and coordinate customer requests in a timely and professional manner
- Provide product specifications, availability, pricing, and guidance to help customers determine the best solution
- Prepare and manage sales quotes accurately
- Maintain and update online inventory and communicate via email throughout the day
- Make outbound calls to prospects to identify contacts, qualify leads, and drive sales through the pipeline
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal teams
- Stay up-to-date on industry developments, product changes, and brand restrictions
- Keep management informed of sales activity and prepare timely reports
- Collaborate with support, account management, and business development teams to achieve team goals
- Assist teammates and contribute to overall team sales objectives
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Education: Associate degree or higher in a business-related or technical field preferred
- 4+ years of experience in industrial valve sales or similar industrial product sales
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Ability to prepare accurate sales quotes and manage customer inquiries
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong customer relationships
- Adaptable and willing to learn new processes and ideas to support team goals

The base pay range for this position is $70,000-$90,000, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final compensation will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future growth.
