Job Description
The Assistant Project Manager supports the Project Manager with planning, coordinating, and executing HVAC and plumbing construction projects. This position ensures projects stay safe, on schedule, within budget, and aligned with company quality standards. The APM works as a key link between project management, field operations, subcontractors, vendors, and clients.
Responsibilities
Project Coordination
• Assist with project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
• Coordinate with field supervisors, subcontractors, and vendors to keep materials and work on track.
• Review and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and purchase orders.
• Maintain accurate project files, logs, and documentation.

Financial Management
• Support cost tracking, forecasting, and budget updates.
• Prepare and review subcontractor/vendor invoices for accuracy.
• Assist with cost-to-complete reports and monthly billing support.

Scheduling and Logistics
• Help develop and maintain construction schedules (MS Project, Primavera, or similar).
• Monitor progress and communicate schedule updates to stakeholders.
• Coordinate material and equipment deliveries to support timelines.

• Conduct site visits to verify progress and quality.
• Partner with foremen/superintendents to solve coordination issues.
• Support OSHA and company safety compliance standards.

• Act as liaison between project teams, clients, engineers, and vendors.

Qualifications and Requirements
Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in HVAC, plumbing, or mechanical contracting.
• Design-build or plan-and-spec project experience preferred.

Technical Skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and project management/scheduling software.
