Job Description
As a Janitor / Custodian, you will help maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment by performing routine cleaning, sanitation, and minor maintenance tasks. Responsibilities
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, offices, hallways, stairwells, laundry rooms, community rooms, and other assigned areas
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, polish, and maintain floors, including high-traffic areas
• Empty trash and recycling receptacles and transport waste safely
• Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces
• Refill restroom and cleaning supplies as needed
• Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and according to guidelines
• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or supply shortages to supervisors
• Follow established cleaning schedules, procedures, and safety standards
• Assist with special cleaning projects such as move-outs, events, or seasonal cleaning
• Coordinate tasks with other maintenance personnel as needed
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance
Qualifications and Requirements
• Prior janitorial, custodial, or housekeeping experience preferred, but not required
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform physical tasks such as standing, bending, and kneeling for extended periods
• Dependable, punctual, and professional demeanor
• Must be able to pass pre-employment screenings
