Job Description
The Software Developer designs, develops, and maintains high-quality software solutions that support business and customer needs. This role delivers features and capabilities for both internal employees and external customers and may configure or customize vendor-provided packaged software. Working under immediate supervision, the Software Developer applies independent judgment to moderately complex technical issues, collaborates primarily within the department, and occasionally works with confidential information. This position is intended for an experienced developer who can work independently while continuing to grow technical and business expertise.

Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and maintain software solutions aligned with business and customer requirements
- Deliver user-facing features and enhancements for internal and external applications
- Configure and customize vendor-provided packaged software to meet user needs
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve moderately complex software issues and defects
- Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle using agile methodologies
- Develop and maintain APIs for internal and external products
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to gather requirements and communicate technical concepts
- Maintain accurate technical documentation and comply with confidentiality and security standards
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Two to seven years of experience as a software engineer
- Experience with Azure cloud engineering and cloud-based application development
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as C#, .NET, or Java
- Understanding of software development lifecycles and agile development methodologies
- Experience building APIs for internal and external applications
- Working knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD principles and practices
- Experience using agile planning tools such as Azure DevOps
- Basic knowledge of database management systems including SQL and NoSQL
- Strong analytical, logical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly in writing and verbally
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to document defects accurately
- Excellent customer service skills
- Insurance industry knowledge, including property and casualty concepts, preferred but not required

The Pay Rate range for this position is $53 – $70 per hour, excluding benefits. Your final Pay Rate will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future salary growth.
