Job Description
The CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating conventional and CNC machines to fabricate precision metal and non-metal components. This role requires strong blueprint reading skills, machining expertise, and the ability to independently complete complex jobs from setup through final inspection. The ideal candidate brings a strong quality mindset, problem-solving skills, and experience working in a manufacturing or job shop environment.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC and conventional machines including mills, lathes, and drill presses
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine machining requirements
- Select tooling, fixtures, and machining parameters including speeds, feeds, and depth of cut
- Inspect finished parts to ensure conformance to specifications and quality standards
- Support continuous improvement, 5S initiatives, and safety and quality policies
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Associate degree in Machine/Tool & Die Technology or completion of an apprenticeship program
- 3–5 years of machining experience in a manufacturing or job shop environment
- Ability to set up and run CNC and conventional equipment
- Experience working in a quality-driven manufacturing environment
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
