Job Description
As a Press Brake Setup Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and adjusting press brake machines to form metal parts to precise specifications. This role requires a highly skilled operator who can interpret blueprints, select proper tooling, and perform accurate setups to support production. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and experienced in running complex press brake jobs while maintaining high quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate press brake machines to bend and form metal components
- Select and install correct tooling, dies, and punches based on job requirements
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and bend specifications
- Perform test bends, adjust machine settings, and verify first-piece quality
- Monitor production runs to ensure parts meet specifications and tolerances
- Inspect finished parts using measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and angle gauges
- Troubleshoot setup or machine issues and make adjustments as needed
- Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow all safety guidelines
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Press Brake Setup Operator
- Strong ability to read blueprints and interpret bend deductions/angles
- Experience selecting tooling and completing accurate press brake setups
- Knowledge of metal fabrication processes and safe material handling
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Dependable, career-minded attitude with strong problem-solving skills
