Job Description
As a CNC Lathe Setup Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC lathe machines to support daily production goals. This role requires strong mechanical ability, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain equipment while parts are in process. The ideal candidate has experience with CNC turning operations, can perform accurate setups, and is committed to producing high-quality parts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Set up CNC lathe machines for production runs using work instructions and blueprints
- Load raw materials, change inserts and tooling, and verify proper machine operation
- Monitor parts during production to ensure accuracy, quality, and tight tolerances
- Make offsets and basic adjustments as needed to maintain part specifications
- Inspect finished parts using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Perform routine machine maintenance and keep the work area clean and safe
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Previous experience operating and setting up CNC lathes
- Ability to read blueprints and follow setup instructions
- Strong technical skills and comfort working with CNC controls
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and precision
- Good manual dexterity and ability to work in a manufacturing environment
- Reliable, career-minded attitude with a willingness to learn and grow
