Job Description:
This full-time role supports loan officers by preparing and analyzing financial information used in credit decisions. Responsibilities include spreading financial statements, evaluating credit quality and risk, ensuring documentation and policy compliance, and assisting with loan package presentations. The position requires strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, proficiency in Excel and Word, and a solid understanding of commercial and consumer lending. A bachelor’s degree in a business-related field and prior credit analysis experience at a financial institution are preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and standardize borrower financial statements for internal review and analysis
- Analyze financial performance, cash flow, and repayment capacity to support credit decisions
- Assist loan officers with assembling complete and well-supported credit packages
- Review larger or more complex credit requests for accuracy, structure, and risk quality
- Ensure loan files meet internal policy standards and applicable regulatory requirements
- Assign internal risk ratings in accordance with established credit and loan review guidelines
- Identify documentation gaps or inconsistencies and work with lending staff to resolve them
- Provide analytical insights and written feedback to lending teams to support sound underwriting decisions
- Maintain organized records and manage multiple credit requests while meeting deadlines
- Use financial analysis tools, spreadsheets, and online resources to support research and credit evaluations
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field
- Coursework should include a minimum of 12 credit hours in accounting
- At least two years of hands-on experience performing credit analysis within a financial institution
- Working knowledge of commercial, construction, real estate, and consumer lending products
- Familiarity with bank lending policies, credit procedures, and relevant state and federal regulations
- Strong financial analysis skills, including the ability to assess cash flow, leverage, and repayment capacity
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, with the ability to build and interpret financial spreadsheets
- Experience using credit analysis or spreading software; exposure to Sageworks is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present financial findings
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and able to exercise sound judgment when evaluating credit risk

The base pay range for this position is $27-$37/hr, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final compensation will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future growth.
