A well-established private organization in the Des Moines area is seeking a detail-oriented accounting professional to support the oversight of significant financial assets and funding activity. This role is integral to maintaining accurate financial records, supporting compliance efforts, and ensuring the organization’s long-term financial stability. Reporting to a senior leader, this position offers exposure to high-level financial operations, collaboration with auditors, and involvement in key financial decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Reconcile and maintain records for financial assets and funding activity
- Track and post monthly investment and funding transactions
- Manage multiple complex spreadsheets with a high level of accuracy
- Assist with annual budgeting and audit preparation
- Support leadership with financial analysis related to asset allocation
- Maintain detailed documentation for large-dollar financial accounts
Preferred Background
- Experience with investment, insurance, endowment, or asset-based accounting
- Exposure to asset allocation, insurance programs, or real estate-related finances
- Comfortable working with high-value accounts and transactions
- Nonprofit, institutional, or fund accounting experience a plus
- Strong Excel skills (advanced formulas, reconciliations, data tracking)
