Job Description
The Drafter is responsible for designing and drafting working layouts and master drawings of inflatable packer and related downhole tool components, assemblies, and systems. This role works from specifications, sketches, models, prototypes, or verbal instructions and supports engineering and manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
- Create detailed drawings, assemblies, and layouts of final designs
- Prepare and dispatch drawings and engineering corrections through established approval processes
- Coordinate filing and organization of engineering drawings and documentation
- Collaborate with engineering and administrative personnel as needed
- Maintain a clean and orderly workstation
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications and Requirements
- Associate’s degree from a two-year college or technical school, or equivalent experience
- One to three years of related drafting or design experience preferred
- Experience with packers, downhole tools, oilfield equipment, or manufacturing environments preferred
- Advanced knowledge of SolidWorks or similar solid modeling software
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong ability to read, interpret, and prepare technical documents
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- SAP experience is a plus
Skills and Abilities
- Strong mathematical skills including geometry, trigonometry, ratios, and proportions
- Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization
- Capability to follow written, oral, diagrammatic, and schedule-based instructions
