Job Description
Join a custom equipment manufacturer as a Mechanical Design Engineer supporting oil & gas processing and production equipment. This role focuses on mechanical design, engineering calculations, and technical documentation for skid-mounted systems, pressure vessels, and piping-heavy equipment. Engineers are involved throughout the full project lifecycle and work closely with drafting, estimating, project management, and fabrication teams. This position is ideal for an engineer who values practical design work and a highly collaborative, onsite environment.
Responsibilities
- Design and engineer custom oil & gas equipment and skid-mounted process packages
- Perform mechanical calculations for pressure vessels and piping systems (ASME, including B31.1)
- Develop and review PFDs, P&IDs, layouts, and supporting engineering documentation
- Collaborate closely with drafting, estimating, project management, and fabrication teams
- Support projects from conceptual design through fabrication and delivery
Qualifications and Requirements
- Oil & gas industry experience is required
- Mechanical engineering background preferred (degree or equivalent industry experience)
- Experience with pressure vessels, piping systems, and fabricated equipment
- Proficiency with SolidWorks and AutoCAD (SolidWorks preferred)
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, onsite engineering environment
