Job Description
The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for processing and managing vendor and subcontractor invoices within a home construction environment. This role focuses heavily on job costing, ensuring expenses are accurately coded to the correct construction projects. You will work closely with Project Managers to track labor, materials, and permit costs while ensuring timely and accurate payments. Strong attention to detail and construction accounting experience are key to success in this role.
Responsibilities:
• Process, review, code, and enter vendor and subcontractor invoices by job and trade
• Prepare and process payments via check and ACH while managing payment schedules
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies or billing issues
• Track, collect, and verify lien waivers for subcontractors and suppliers
• Support month-end close activities and maintain organized AP documentation

Qualifications and Requirements:
• 3–5 years of Accounts Payable experience, preferably in construction or home building
• High School Diploma or GED required; college coursework or degree is a plus
• Knowledge of full-cycle AP, job costing, and construction billing practices
• Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills

The base pay range for this position is $22-$24, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final compensation will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity.
