Job Description
Our client in Des Moines is seeking a Procurement Specialist to support purchasing and sourcing activities for their manufacturing operations. This role focuses on managing supplier relationships, ensuring materials are available for production, controlling costs, and supporting continuous improvement efforts. It’s a great opportunity for a purchasing professional who enjoys working cross-functionally and making a measurable impact on operations and costs.
Responsibilities:
• Manage purchasing and sourcing activities for assigned product categories
• Work closely with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery, quality, and cost control
• Create and manage purchase orders while maintaining accurate procurement records
• Monitor inventory levels and resolve supply or invoice discrepancies
• Support cost-saving initiatives, sourcing projects, and process improvements

Qualifications and Requirements:
• 3+ years of experience in purchasing or sourcing
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• 3+ years of accounting, financial reporting, or FP&A experience
• Proficiency with Excel, Microsoft Office, and ERP systems
• Ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and work on-site
• Clear communicator who works well with suppliers and internal teams

The base salary range for this position is $60,000- $75,000, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final salary will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future salary growth.
