Job Description
Join a growing construction company as a versatile Payroll/Bookkeeping & Office Manager supporting a busy workforce of 200+ employees. In this role, you will manage construction payroll, including prevailing wage and certified payroll reporting, manual entry of hours and wages in Excel, and union rate compliance. You will provide full-charge bookkeeping support including AP/AR, invoicing, costing, and data entry. This position also handles HR onboarding tasks, office administration, and communication with both employees and the corporate office in Columbus. Responsibilities
- Process weekly construction payroll, including manual Excel entry, certified payroll, and prevailing wage compliance
- Perform bookkeeping functions including AP/AR, invoicing, costing, and reconciliation
- Manage HR onboarding: new hire packets, I-9 verification, and transmitting benefit documents to corporate
- Provide general office management including phone support, data entry, filing, and communication with internal/external contacts
- Assist with AIA billing and job cost tracking as needed
Qualifications and Requirements
- Previous payroll experience required; construction or certified payroll highly preferred
- Strong bookkeeping skills including AP/AR, invoicing, and costing
- Proficient computer skills including Excel, data entry, and 10-key
- Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities
- Ability to handle confidential information and work in a fast-paced environment
