Job Description
Our client in the Stafford area is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to support daily financial operations within a growing organization. This role is ideal for someone with a few years of accounting experience who is eager to develop, take initiative, and eventually take ownership of accounting responsibilities. You will play a key role in managing invoices, reconciliations, contractor billing, and general financial reporting. Responsibilities:
- Utilize QuickBooks to perform daily accounting tasks
- Prepare and send invoices, track payments, and follow up on overdue balances
- Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable accurately
- Process contract billing, perform data entry, and maintain financial records
- Generate financial reports as needed
- Monitor cash flow, budget variances, and assist in payment scheduling
- Support general accounting functions as directed
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High school diploma required (Accounting coursework or degree preferred)
- Knowledge of QuickBooks is required
- Experience in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and contractor billing
- Strong data entry accuracy and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word; basic Excel knowledge preferred
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ideal for candidates with 1–4 years of accounting experience who want to learn and grow

The base pay range for this position is $54,080–$62,400 annually, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Final compensation depends on skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future growth.
