Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Medical Dosimetrist to join a dynamic Radiation Oncology team. This role is ideal for a highly skilled professional who is passionate about advancing patient care, supporting complex treatment planning, and mentoring fellow dosimetrists. This is a fully remote position, with onsite presence required only for orientation.
Responsibilities:
- Develop precise, customized treatment plans in alignment with physician prescriptions while ensuring critical structures are protected.
- Utilize multimodality imaging for rigid/deformable registration, respiratory gating, and CBCT assessment for dose tracking and adaptive planning.
- Perform external beam treatment planning for photon and electron modalities, including 3DCRT and IMRT/VMAT techniques.
- Identify and contour normal and dose-limiting structures using CT, MRI, and PET imaging.
- Generate and transfer reference images (DRR, CBCT, SGRT) for accurate treatment setup and delivery.
- Complete accurate dose calculations and verify them using approved secondary calculation systems (e.g., RadCalc, Mobius).
- Conduct QA on treatment records, verifying agreement with prescriptions, dose delivered, and scheduled fractions.
- Participate in onboarding of new dosimetrists and train students, therapists, and residents on applied aspects of medical dosimetry.
- Provide consultative support on verification of treatment plans and external planning options.
- Serve as an advisor to radiation therapists on treatment plan implementation and immobilization/treatment devices.
- Assist in planning and implementing electron block production.
- Engage in continuous quality improvement and perform additional QA tasks, including brachytherapy QA.
- Maintain compliance with internal controls and perform additional duties as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Radiation Therapy, Physical Sciences, or related field.
- Graduate of a JRCERT-accredited Medical Dosimetry program.
- Minimum 3 years of comprehensive clinical dosimetry experience, including advanced planning techniques.
- At least 1 year of experience with the RayStation treatment planning system.
- At least 1 year of experience with vendor-neutral imaging software (e.g., MIM, Velocity).
- Required: Medical Dosimetrist Certification (CMD) via MDCB.
- Preferred: Current Basic Life Support (BLS).

The base pay range for this position is $116,850-$186,950, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final compensation will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future growth.
