Job Description
A well-established Iowa-based non-profit company is seeking a Senior Accountant to support accounting operations, payroll administration, and financial reporting for multiple entities. This individual will play a central role in preparing financial statements, managing payroll compliance, and leading audit and tax-related processes. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to a purpose-driven organization that invests directly in community health and wellness initiatives.

Responsibilities
• Manage full-cycle payroll processing and ensure compliance with all state and federal requirements.
• Prepare accurate GAAP-based financial statements, reports, and forecasts for multiple entities.
• Lead or support annual audits (financial, 401k, SOC) and coordinate tax and regulatory filings.
• Partner with HR and Benefits teams to align payroll, compensation, and system data.
• Serve as a back-up for cash management and oversee internal incentive and commission reporting.
• Drive process improvements across full cycle accounting functions that enhance financial accuracy, efficiency, and reporting integrity.

Qualifications and Strengths
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
• 5+ years of accounting experience with demonstrated strength in payroll, full-cycle accounting, and financial reporting
• Proficiency with technology & ERP systems advanced Excel skills preferred
• Strong understanding of GAAP
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a collaborative environment
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
