The challenge:
As an auto dealership’s growth accelerated, leadership recognized that having one controller oversee multiple locations was no longer effective. To maintain strong financial oversight, they needed a dedicated controller in each dealership. The challenge was twofold: finding professionals with the technical expertise to manage day-to-day financial operations and the communication skills to partner closely with general managers. The dealership also needed support across multiple markets, from Omaha to Olathe, Madison, and a future location in Colorado Springs.
The solution:
The dealership once again partnered with The Reserves Network (TRN) to source top Controller talent. We began by placing a Controller in their largest Omaha dealership, then quickly filled an additional role in another local store. As expansion continued, TRN identified a relocatable candidate who could start immediately and later transition to their upcoming Colorado Springs location, providing continuity and long-term stability. Building on this success, the dealership relied on us to support hard-to-fill roles in outside markets, where we successfully placed Controllers in Olathe, KS, and Madison, WI.
The result:
Building on the foundation established in our earlier executive placements, TRN’s controller hires have given the dealership the operational depth needed at the store level. Just as the executives we placed brought strategic leadership to guide expansion, these controller placements have strengthened financial oversight and day-to-day operations in each dealership.
