Supporting a Technology Partner’s Time-Sensitive Staffing Needs
Key Metrics:
- Project completed within the 5-week deadline
- Client extended the candidate’s assignment
The challenge:
A technology company and valued TRN partner since 2000, requires every candidate to pass a mandatory background check before beginning work. While this step ensures compliance and security, it introduces delays of 1 to 8 days. For a company with strict project deadlines and critical staffing needs, even short gaps in coverage can create operational strain and risk of falling behind schedule. The challenge grew when they were given only five weeks to ship the electronic voting machines, which led them to implement 12-hour shifts in order to meet the deadline.
The solution:
The Reserves Network proactively sourced and recruited multiple candidates. Several qualified local individuals were identified who could begin work promptly thanks to previously completed background checks. To keep candidates ready for quick mobilization, we kept in touch through phone calls, texts, and emails, making sure their availability was always up to date. Additionally, we revisited previous job orders to identify and re-engage former candidates who had successfully worked with the client in the past. This approach allowed us to leverage existing talent familiar with the client’s environment.
The result:
We successfully placed a candidate on the project who quickly proved to be an exceptional performer. According to the client, this individual played a key role in loading and shipping a large number of voting machines, making significant progress in a short time. The client has requested to extend the candidate’s assignment for a few more weeks, as he has proven to be a tremendous help to the organization.
