Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Unified Communications Technician to manage, configure, and troubleshoot enterprise telephony and collaboration systems. This role involves provisioning and maintaining Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Unity Connection, IM&P, and Emergency Responder platforms, as well as supporting analog and digital telephony systems. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to ensuring reliable communication solutions.
Responsibilities
- Provision and configure telephones and mailboxes in Cisco Unified Communications Manager and Unity Connection
- Perform moves, adds, and changes for phones and mailboxes, including cleanup of telephone descriptions, lines, and appearances
- Troubleshoot analog telephony issues, including tracing analog lines, elevator lines, and Blue Light phones on campuses
- Troubleshoot digital telephony issues, including connectivity between telephony endpoints and the network, digital intercoms, classroom wall phones, office phones, and Blue Light phones
- Assist in replacing legacy phones and voice gateways with newer models
- Manage e-waste by moving old phones from IDF rooms to warehouses, logging serial numbers/MAC addresses, and packaging for e-waste pickup
- Ensure system stability and performance across distributed environments
- Provide technical support during system upgrades and incident resolution initiatives
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; Cisco certifications (e.g., CCNA Collaboration) are a plus
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Unity Connection, IM&P, and Emergency Responder
- Proficiency in provisioning, configuring, and troubleshooting analog and digital telephony systems
- Strong understanding of telephony endpoint management, network connectivity, and interoperability
- Familiarity with security best practices for communication systems
- Detail-oriented with experience in inventory management and e-waste processes

The Pay Rate range for this position is $50 – $55 per hour, excluding benefits. Your final Pay Rate will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future salary growth.
