Job Description
The Operations Supervisor leads and oversees all operational activities within Pipe Yard Operations, including Receiving, Shipping, and Personnel Management. This role utilizes data-driven insights to plan workloads, improve efficiency, and manage inventory flow. The Supervisor will delegate tasks, train team members, and ensure a safe, clean, and organized working environment. Strong leadership and coordination across departments are key to success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage 8 or more direct reports across operations
- Oversee warehouse workflow, including coordination with sales and traffic departments
- Manage inbound and outbound logistics and communicate with truck drivers
- Ensure all safety and quality guidelines are enforced
- Coordinate repairs and improvements with outside contractors
- Conduct training, meetings, and maintain documentation for team development
- Oversee daily safety meetings, equipment maintenance, and cleanliness
- Implement and monitor Lock-out/Tag-out protocols
- Report safety hazards and equipment issues to management and HSE
Qualifications and Requirements
- 3–5 years of supervisory experience in a warehouse or yard operations environment
- Strong knowledge of shipping, receiving, and inventory management practices
- Proven ability to lead teams, conduct training, and drive performance
- Familiarity with safety protocols and OSHA guidelines
- Strong communication and organizational skills
