Job Description:
This organization is looking for a skilled and proactive Workstation Support Technician to join their team. In this vital role, you will be the backbone of daily operations, ensuring the team stays connected and productive. From diagnosing complex hardware issues to providing high-touch technical support, you will act as a key point of contact for employees. Responsibilities:    
- Technical Troubleshooting & Resolution: Diagnose and resolve a wide range of hardware, software, and network connectivity issues, ranging from routine desktop glitches to complex technical challenges.
- Deployment & Configuration: Manage the end-to-end setup of new workstations, including hardware assembly, operating system configuration, and the installation of core productivity applications and user accounts.
- Proactive System Maintenance: Install and maintain software updates and hardware components across company devices to ensure a secure and high-performing IT environment.
- End-User Support & Education: Provide high-touch technical assistance via in-person, remote, and phone channels, while educating users on best practices to prevent future technical disruptions.
- Operational Documentation: Maintain precise records of hardware inventory and service requests within a ticket tracking system, contributing to a library of technical guides for common procedures.
- Field Support & Mobility: Travel to various sites across the service area to provide on-site technical support and hardware maintenance using a company-provided vehicle.
- Specialized Equipment Management: Support diverse technical environments, including audio-visual systems, ruggedized mobile devices, and specialized security/virus kiosks.
 
  Qualifications and Requirements:    
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in a workstation support or technical help desk role, with a strong track record of resolving hardware and software issues.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of the Windows operating system environment, including productivity software, office applications, and core hardware components.
- Networking & Systems Foundation: Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including DNS, VPN connectivity, and the functional role of Active Directory.
- Communication & Soft Skills: Ability to translate complex technical concepts into easy-to-understand language for non-technical users, maintaining a customer-oriented and collaborative approach.
- Critical Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize urgent support tickets and think critically under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Mobility & Licensing: Possession of a valid state-issued driver’s license and a willingness to drive extensively to various sites within the service area (using a company vehicle).
- Physical Capability: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and carrying up to 70 pounds and working in tight spaces (bending, kneeling, reaching).
- Education & Certification: High school diploma required (Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred); industry-standard certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician are a significant plus.

The hourly pay rate for this position is $20 - $24 per hour, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final salary will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future salary growth.
