Job Description
As an Underwriter III, you will assess risk, provide insurance coverage to customers, and play a key role in the commercial trucking industry. This position involves analyzing risk factors, providing quotes, addressing inquiries, and utilizing underwriting software for data management. You will also supervise a small team of underwriters, oversee approvals, and conduct training.
Responsibilities:
- Assess risk factors such as Motor Vehicle Records, claims history, and business type.
- Provide quotes and address customer inquiries regarding coverage and pricing.
- Compare current insurance quotes to emphasize sales opportunities.
- Utilize underwriting software for data management and documentation.
- Supervise and train a small team of underwriters.
- Approve assigned tasks and double-check accuracy in underwriting processes.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (associate’s degree preferred).
- 3+ years of commercial trucking insurance experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients, brokers, and colleagues effectively.
- Strong organizational and prioritization abilities.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Experience with CAB carrier software preferred
