Job Description:
As a Production Lead, you will oversee daily and long-term production operations, ensuring high standards in safety, animal husbandry, personnel management, and operational efficiency. You will lead production teams, coordinate schedules, and ensure compliance with all regulatory and company standards. This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving, and a commitment to excellence in animal agriculture.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and motivate production teams to achieve company goals.
- Oversee flock management, bird movement, and scheduling to optimize production.
- Ensure proper execution of all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to production.
- Maintain daily feeding schedules, water availability, ventilation, and general bird health.
- Oversee cleanliness and biosecurity of layer houses, including mortality disposal.
- Coordinate facility maintenance and equipment repairs to ensure continuous operations.
- Implement and maintain rodent, fly, and pest control programs.
- Work closely with veterinarians and nutritionists on vaccination programs and health monitoring.
- Manage production records, scheduling, and feed mill coordination.
- Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, FSMA, and company biosecurity regulations.
- Support personnel development through training, coaching, and documentation.
- Respond to emergencies during off-hours to maintain operational stability.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- 1-2 years of leadership & supervisory experience in animal production (poultry preferred).
- Experience in Live Haul, Feed Haul, Feed Mill, Hatchery, or Broiler production is a plus.
- Strong communication (written/verbal) and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Bilingual (English & Spanish) preferred.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in varying climate conditions.
