Job Description:
As a Processing Lead, you will play a vital role in supervising and coordinating daily operations within the egg processing department. This position is responsible for overseeing the washing, grading, and packaging of eggs while ensuring efficiency, quality control, and adherence to safety standards. You will provide hands-on leadership, support team members, and maintain a clean and hygienic processing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and guide a team of processing employees, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
- Assign and distribute daily production tasks, monitoring progress and adjusting as necessary.
- Enforce strict quality control measures and conduct regular inspections to maintain egg quality.
- Promote and enforce safety protocols, fostering a culture of safety awareness.
- Operate and oversee the use of processing equipment, including egg washers, graders, and packaging machines.
- Oversee cleaning and sanitization processes to maintain hygiene and compliance with food safety standards.
- Monitor inventory levels of packaging materials, cleaning supplies, and other necessary items, notifying management of replenishment needs.
- Report equipment malfunctions, quality concerns, and safety issues to the Processing Manager.
- Participate in training programs and ensure all team members are well-trained in their roles.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in food processing or a related industry preferred.
- Strong leadership and teamwork skills.
- Understanding of food safety and quality control standards.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to operate processing equipment and perform physical tasks as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 65 lbs.
- Stand, walk, and perform repetitive physical tasks for extended periods.
Working Conditions:
- Work in a food processing environment, which may include temperature variations, noise, and odors.
- Occasional weekend or evening work required during peak production periods.
