Job Description
Join a respected aerospace tooling and precision manufacturing company as a Process Engineer. In this role, you’ll be the go-to person for keeping jobs moving through the shop—expediting processes, solving bottlenecks, and ensuring production hits quality and delivery targets. You’ll work closely with the Shop Manager, direct a small team of machinists, and apply your hands-on machining or tooling expertise to keep work flowing. You will also assist in estimating repeat jobs and help review jobs for profitability. If you thrive in a fast-paced, high-precision manufacturing environment and enjoy problem-solving on the floor, this role offers the opportunity to make an immediate difference.
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day shop floor operations and expedite production processes
- Collaborate with machinists, toolmakers, and leadership to remove bottlenecks
- Review and optimize manufacturing processes for efficiency and quality
- Provide input on tooling, setups, and programming approaches (no coding required, but must understand process)
- Assist with estimating repeat jobs
- Light assembly
- Maintain focus on aerospace-quality standards and documentation requirements
- Direct and mentor a small team of shop employees
Qualifications and Requirements
- Strong machining or tooling background—preferably in aerospace or defense manufacturing
- Familiarity with CNC programming concepts (no degree required)
- Hands-on problem-solving ability and process improvement mindset
- Experience in a production environment with complex assemblies and tight tolerances
- Ability to work onsite and collaborate directly with shop leadership and team
Benefits and Perks
- $80,000 – $100,000 annual salary (open to more for exceptional talent)
- POS medical insurance (70/30 employer/employee split)
- 10 days PTO to start
- Onsite role with direct impact on production performance
- Stable, long-standing business with strong customer relationships
Your New Organization
Join a privately owned precision tooling and assembly company with deep roots in the aerospace and defense sectors. With vendor codes in place and strong long-term customers, they’ve earned their place in a competitive niche and are looking for a leader to elevate performance and operations. Culture is hands-on, entrepreneurial, and family-run—with a need for someone who can bring structure, improve systems, and rally top-tier machinists and designers around a shared vision.
