Job Description
This role involves setting up, operating, and tending machines to cut, shear, bend, or straighten metal or plastic materials according to specified production requirements. Responsibilities include examining completed work for defects, measuring work pieces for conformance to specifications, and making necessary adjustments to machines, including changing dies and fine-tuning speeds. The operator is also responsible for aligning and securing work pieces using hand tools and measuring devices, ensuring that materials are loaded correctly and that machines run efficiently. Additionally, the role requires reading production schedules and work orders to determine material specifications and tolerances.
Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, or tend machines to saw, cut, shear, slit, punch, crimp, notch, bend, or straighten metal or plastic material. Set up, operate, or tend machines to saw, cut, shear, slit, punch, crimp, notch, bend, or straighten metal or plastic material.
- Examine completed work pieces for defects, such as chipped edges or marred surfaces and sort defective pieces according to types of flaws.
- Measure completed work pieces to verify conformance to specifications, using micrometers, gauges, calipers, templates, or rulers
- Set up, operate, or tend machines to saw, cut, shear, slit, punch, crimp, notch, bend, or straighten metal or plastic material.
- Install, align, lock specified punches, dies, cutting blades, or other fixtures in rams or beds of machines, using gauges, templates, feelers, shims, and hand tools.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience with Press Brake Machines: Amada, Cincinnati, Trumpf, Accupress
- 2+ years of experience in set up, operating, or tending machine to saw, cut, shear, slit, punch, crimp, notch, bend, or straighten metal
- Knowledge of principles and practices of product conversion
- Effective oral and written communication skills
