Shift: Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
We are currently seeking a Paralegal for one of Houston’s most trusted and progressive mental healthcare organizations. Reporting directly to the Assistant General Counsel-Contract Services, the Paralegal will offer comprehensive legal, contract, and administrative support, focusing primarily on legal research, contract management, and assisting with the contract review and approval process. The Paralegal will perform skilled professional duties to facilitate the initiation and completion of contractual agreements.
What you will be doing:
- Review and draft legal documents with precision and accuracy.
- Manage contracts by coordinating with all parties, preparing summaries, closing out contracts timely, and drafting necessary correspondence.
- Respond to contract-related inquiries from staff and vendors professionally and maintain positive relationships.
- Conduct legal research and compile relevant data.
- Draft legal documents, including correspondence and memos, using correct format and content.
- Review and ensure accuracy of the monthly Board report, including all required documents.
- File legal documents according to department standards.
- Prepare for contract meetings by organizing relevant files and drafting summaries to assist attorneys in discussions or resolutions.
Your Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university
- Three years of paralegal work experience or more is required.
- Experience with working with a Governmental or Healthcare entity preferred.
- Experience with Real Estate transactions preferred but not required.
- Proficient in vendor negotiations and knowledgeable in contract law, terms, and conditions.
- Experienced in general contract procedures and management.
