Job Description
Our client, a leading line pipe distributor in the United States, is seeking an Outbound Manager for their South Houston location on the 1st shift. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the overall activities pertaining to the Shipping Department. The ideal candidate will effectively delegate workloads to department supervisors and personnel. Apply today to join a dynamic team and contribute to a major player in the industry!
Responsibilities:
- Ensure all department equipment is in proper working condition (forklifts, pickers, crane, hand tools, etc.)
- Effectively communicates with department supervisors and upper management. Utilizes the email groups to communicate with Receiving, Front Office, and Sales Departments.
- Manages late orders and effectively communicates with sales of expected ship dates.
- Coordinates with QC on material discrepancies and non-conforming stock material.
- Process and handles pick tickets by effectively communicating with Sales, Department Supervisors, and QC.
- Manages loading dock space daily by communicating with Logistics and Sales.
- Effectively trains supervisors on company processes and procedures, submits training records, and identifies areas that need additional training.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 5 years of warehouse experience in shipping and receiving.
- Must have prior management experience in a manufacturing facility.
- Experience inspecting and operating reach trucks, forklifts, order pickers, and overhead cranes.
- Knowledge of pipes, carbon flanges, and fittings required. Flanged values, Gate, Globe and Check valves, High pressure valves, Multiport valves and Sanitary valves
- Must be able to pass pre-employment screenings, including background check and drug test.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to strictly observe safety rules and protocols.
- Physically capable of lifting and moving objects up to 50 lbs regularly, and over 100 lbs occasionally, with experience using Sit-Down Forklifts, Stand-Up Reach Trucks, or Pickers preferred.

If you are hired, your base salary will be determined based on factors such as individual skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location.
