Manual Machinist – Horizontal Boring Bar
Pay Rate: $22-30 hourly compensation based on experience and qualifications.
Location: Milwaukee, WI
Hours: 1st shift, Monday – Friday, 6 am to 2:30 pm
2nd shift Monday – Friday 12 pm to 8:30 pm
The Machinist has a direct impact on the profitability of the company. Timely, accurate, and complete job production and manufacture enable the corporation to have effective customer satisfaction. These matters directly affect the ability of the corporation to be competitive.
Responsibilities:
- Set-up and machine, (including feeds, speeds, and tool selection), parts or weldments with complex machining requirements without the aid of fixtures or detailed set-up sheets
- Do routine oiling and/or lubrication as instructed by supervisor/maintenance
- Responsible for machining parts within the routed time frame, or notifying the supervisor if the work order time and/or sequence of operation on the order is incorrect
- Fill out daily time slips accurately for labor reporting purposes
- On occasion other job duties as assigned by your supervisor
Requirements:
- Be fully knowledgeable in work holding and clamping for milling, drilling, tapping, and boring utilizing a horizontal manual boring bar
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, micrometers, and a ruler to product parts.
- Be familiar with different alloy materials and the tooling, speeds, and feeds required for machining the different alloys
- Possess the math skills to calculate angles, bolt circles, and any other equations required to accomplish machining tasks
- Have own tools that accommodate set up, deburring, tool changing, and measuring for all phases of operation.
- Be proficient in the use of overhead cranes
