Job Description
Our client, a leading line pipe distributor in the United States, is seeking a dependable Manual Lathe Machinist to join their team. In this role, you'll be responsible for calibrating and operating manual lathe machines to cut, sand, drill, and turn materials. You'll also inspect and maintain your workstation to ensure optimal machine performance and read blueprints to accurately calculate dimensions for each job. Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate manual lathes for machining operations, including turning, boring, threading, and facing.
- Work on metal workpieces such as castings, forgings, and bar stock according to detailed specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, job orders, tooling instructions, and charts.
- Monitor and maintain equipment and machinery to ensure proper functioning.
- Perform routine inspections of equipment and machines to identify and resolve issues.
- Ensure accuracy and precision in all machining tasks with strong attention to detail.
- Utilize computer and mathematical skills to support machining operations and calculations.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification required.
- 1-3 years of experience working with manual lathes or similar machines.
- Capable of interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
- Basic mill setup experience is a plus.
- Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and performing detailed tasks.
- Ability to lift heavy objects, up to 50 pounds, as needed.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is advantageous.
- Position may involve long periods of standing, squatting, bending, twisting, and reaching.

If you are hired, your base salary will be determined based on factors such as individual skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location.
