Maintenance Technician – 2nd Shift | North Charlotte University Area | $28.00 – $36.00 per hour + DOE | 2:30 pm – 10:30 pm plus OT| Monday – Friday

Job Description
- Troubleshoot and repair electro-mechanical issues on production related equipment.
- Consults with department leaders regarding repair scheduling and production delays.
- Follows up on and studies recurring failures to find solutions.
- Initiates immediate communication with supervisor when a problem has no immediate solution, when an emergency breakdown requires more than four hours to repair.
- Makes electrical repairs on production equipment.
- Support preventative maintenance program.
- Performs safety measures in the design and installation of equipment.
- Understands company safety policy. Performs work to ensure procedures are within safety and governmental compliance.
- Informs co-workers of precautions and equipment. Trains others in the use of protective equipment when required.
- Provide backup assistance for technicians / electricians in their daily tasks as requested.
- Support some off-shift work as the need arises.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
- Associates degree in an engineering discipline + 3 years of relevant experience or high school diploma/GED +5 years of experience.
- 5+ years of experience performing basic preventative maintenance on various equipment.
- 3+ years of experience working in a fast paced, manufacturing environment.
- Industrial or residential Certifications, i.e., Refrigeration etc.
- Machine shop fundamentals: welding, milling, lathes, precision measurement tools etc.
- Specialized training in plumbing and electrical fundamentals (at least 2 years)
- Extensive knowledge of all production processes, activities, equipment, materials, products, and personnel.
- Basic computer skills including email, basic mouse, and menu navigation.
- Basic measuring devices – tape measures
- Trouble shooting skills.
- Ability to read and understand oral/written instructions.
- Math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of whole numbers and fractions.
- 2 + years knowledge of general maintenance procedures
- Proficiency in the use of a wide variety of hand tools. Tools such as Bearing Pullers, Ratchets, Wire Strippers, Crimp tools, Extractors, DVM’s etc.
- Willing and able to become forklift certified.

The base pay range for this position is $28.00 – $38.00 per hour. Your final compensation will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future growth.
