Job Description
Join our client’s expanding team in Archdale, NC, as a Machinist. In this role, you will weld, assemble, and machine parts used in production operations. You will also assist with CNC machining setup and operation, interpreting technical drawings and ensuring precision, quality, and efficiency in every project. This is an exciting opportunity for skilled tradespeople seeking a stable, hands-on role with a consistent four-day workweek and room for advancement.
Responsibilities
- Weld and assemble parts used in production areas according to blueprints and specifications
- Set up and operate CNC machining centers using provided drawings and programs
- Fabricate and assemble orders using the correct parts, tools, and techniques per BOM/Drawing
- Maintain a high level of accuracy, quality, and efficiency while performing work
- Conduct quality audits on your work as detailed in standard work or quality instructions
- Perform inspections and quality checks at specified points in the process
- Support other production and machine shop activities as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Welder, Machinist, or Fabricator
- Certified Welder (MIG/TIG) with the ability to braze copper, brass, mild steel, stainless steel, and galvanized steel
- Experience operating a variety of equipment including: cutoff saw, press brake, shear, hydraulic press, drill press, sander, milling machine, lathes, band saw, iron worker, riveter, sandblaster, tapping table, and hand/pneumatic tools
- Proficiency in schematic and blueprint reading
- Skilled in measuring tools such as calipers, tape measures, protractors, and filler gauges (standard and metric)
- Strong math and geometry skills required
- Knowledge of CNC machining setup, editing, and programming preferred
- Experience with:
- CNC Vertical Mill (HAAS)
- Press Brake (ACCURPRESS)
- CNC Lathe (Dual Spindle)
- Waterjet (OMAX)
- Milling Machine (Bridgeport)
- Various Saws (Band, Horizontal, SOCO)
Physical and Educational Requirements
- Must be able to sit or stand for several hours at a time
- Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs unassisted and additional weight with assistance
- Overtime availability as required
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree preferred
