Job Description
Skilled Legal Assistant to join Special Collections department, which manages delinquent Business-Personal Property (BPP) taxes. In this role, the Legal Assistant will play a key role in ensuring the efficient management of delinquent tax accounts through a variety of administrative, research, and organizational tasks. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, capable of multitasking, and proactive in managing multiple priorities. They must be adaptable to changing deadlines and able to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a high level of productivity.
Responsibilities
- Views and obtains court documents online
- Gathers information regarding delinquent tax accounts and provides reports to paralegals and Attorneys as requested
- Overseeing payment plans
- Conducting research on the status of corporate entities
- Uses various skip-tracing methods to locate delinquent taxpayers and defendants in lawsuits to build lawsuit packets
Qualifications and Requirements
- Previous experience in legal and tax-related fields is highly preferred.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
- Strong multitasking and prioritization skills
- Proficient with computers and legal software
- Professional demeanor with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment

The base pay range for this position is $35,360 annually, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final compensation will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future growth.
