Job Description
Join a dynamic insurance organization headquartered in downtown Omaha, NE, as a Storage/Backup Engineer (Junior-Level) to work closely with our Senior Storage Engineer and gain hands-on experience supporting enterprise storage, backup, and disaster recovery systems. This role offers exposure to cloud, network, and database technologies, with a focus on ensuring data availability, reliability, and performance across the environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the management and maintenance of on-prem and cloud-based storage environments.
- Support enterprise backup and recovery operations using tools such as Dell EMC Unity and Veeam/Avamar.
- Monitor and troubleshoot storage capacity, performance, and availability issues.
- Participate in disaster recovery testing and documentation to ensure business continuity.
- Work with cloud storage platforms (Azure, AWS, or similar) to support backup and replication processes.
- Collaborate with network and database teams to ensure smooth integration and optimal performance.
- Learn and apply best practices in data protection, retention, and recovery.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer sciences or related field is required
- 2–4 years of experience in IT infrastructure, storage, or systems administration.
- Familiarity with cloud storage and backup technologies.
- Understanding of disaster recovery concepts and database availability fundamentals.
- Experience with storage or backup platforms such as Unity, Avamar, Veeam, or similar tools.
- Willingness to learn under senior technical mentorship and grow into more advanced responsibilities.

The base salary range for this position is $80,000–$90,000, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final salary will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future salary growth.
