Job Description
Join a mission-driven team dedicated to nourishing children and supporting early childhood education. As a Food Service Assistant, you will help prepare, serve, and clean up meals in accordance with USDA and CACFP guidelines. This is an essential role in a collaborative environment supporting the health and nutrition of young children in Early Head Start and Head Start programs.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and snacks to classrooms
• Follow USDA meal requirements and manage allergy/food restrictions
• Clean and sanitize kitchen tools and prep areas per safety regulations
• Label, store, and dispose of food properly
• Assist with accurate food service documentation for CACFP

Qualifications and Requirements:
• High School diploma or GED required
• One year of food service experience preferred
• Current Food Handlers Permit required
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
• Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills

The base salary range for this position is $33,280–$35,360, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final salary will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future salary growth.
