Job Summary
We are seeking a hands-on and dependable Engine Return & Reconditioning Technician to join the Return to Stock Department. This position is ideal for someone with entry-level to intermediate automotive experience who enjoys working with their hands and learning new skills. The technician will assist with inspecting, cleaning, and preparing returned engines and components for reconditioning, ensuring that all parts meet company quality standards.
This role offers a great opportunity to gain experience in a production environment with room to grow into more advanced mechanical or assembly positions.
Responsibilities
- Inspect returned engines and components for condition, damage, and reusability
- Clean and wash raw materials and maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment
- Perform basic repairs and reconditioning as directed (such as simple thread or gasket repairs)
- Assist in assembling and packaging engines and cylinder heads for reconditioning or shipment
- Maintain accurate part identification and recordkeeping for materials in process
- Support inventory organization and ensure parts are stored safely to prevent damage
- Follow company policies, safety procedures, and quality control standards
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet department production goals
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Entry-level to moderate automotive or mechanical experience preferred
- Ability to use hand tools and basic power tools safely
- Eagerness to learn reconditioning, repair, and assembly procedures
- Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions
- Basic math and measurement skills
- Able to lift and maneuver engine parts and equipment as required
- Dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented

The base pay for this position is $16/hour, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final salary will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity.
