Job Summary
We are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Engine Crating & Shipping Technician to assist with the preparation, assembly, and crating of high-performance automobile engines. This position requires mechanical aptitude, the ability to work with power tools, and the willingness to learn forklift operation to move products safely between departments. We are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Engine Crating & Shipping Technician to assist with the preparation, assembly, and crating of high-performance automobile engines. This position requires mechanical aptitude, the ability to work with power tools, and the willingness to learn forklift operation to move products safely between departments. The ideal candidate takes pride in their craftsmanship, values quality and safety, and thrives in a team-oriented shop environment.
Responsibilities
- Assemble and build custom wooden crates for engines using power tools, such as battery-powered drills and impact drivers
- Crate and package high-performance engines securely for outbound shipment
- Operate or train to operate a forklift to transport materials and finished products between departments
- Place engines on stands for assembly and on test carts for DYNO runs
- Remove engines from test carts and prepare them for shipping
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace in the High Performance Department
- Learn and memorize part locations within the warehouse and accurately identify part numbers
- Follow all company policies, safety standards, and quality control procedures
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand and power tools
- Willingness to learn forklift operation (certification preferred but not required)
- Ability to work independently for short periods of time
- Basic math and measurement skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
- Ability to read, write, and follow written and verbal instructions
- Able to lift and maneuver heavy parts and equipment as required
- Problem-solving skills for routine work situations

The base pay for this position is $16/hour, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final salary will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future salary growth.
