Job Description
Seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join a mission-driven healthcare organization based in Omaha, Nebraska. This is a full-time, day-shift opportunity to work on meaningful projects in a collaborative, innovation-focused environment.
Our client is seeking a skilled Data Engineer to help advance their healthcare analytics capabilities by designing, building, and optimizing data pipelines and platforms. In this role, you will play a key part in developing scalable data infrastructure, integrating diverse data sources, and ensuring data quality and compliance with privacy regulations such as HIPAA. You'll collaborate with clinical, operational, and technical teams to support data-driven decision-making and improve patient outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and fine-tune scalable data infrastructure and pipelines to support enterprise analytics and reporting initiatives
- Develop and manage ETL/ELT workflows that consolidate and transform data from diverse internal and external sources
- Ensure data integrity and consistency across systems through robust validation and monitoring practice.
- Optimize cloud resource usage by deploying efficient code and monitoring infrastructure costs
- Enforce data access policies aligned with best practices in role- and attribute-based access control
- Collaborate across business, clinical, and technical teams to deliver data solutions that meet evolving operational needs
- Translate complex data findings into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders and leadership teams
- Support migration efforts from legacy systems to modern cloud-based platforms and tool.
- Maintain compliance with data privacy and security standards, including regulatory frameworks like HIPAA
- Stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies, contributing to process improvements and innovation across data systems
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline; an advanced degree is a plus
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in data engineering, data architecture, or related roles within complex enterprise environments
- Experience with Azure and Databricks are the most valued and important skills
- Proven ability to design, develop, and manage scalable ETL/ELT processes using modern data tools (Azure Data Factory, Informatica, or equivalent)
- Skilled in programming languages commonly used in data workflows, such as Python, SQL, or R
- Working knowledge of modern data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, or Redshift
- Experience with cloud ecosystems (Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform), including data services and cost optimization
- Familiarity with data modeling principles, data warehouse design, and integration strategies across disparate systems
- Understanding of data governance, privacy standards, and regulatory compliance (HIPAA or similar industry standards) is preferred

The base salary range for this position is $100,000 – $150,000, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final salary will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity.
