Job Description
The Intake Specialist is responsible for coordinating the registration of qualified refugee students into BEI’s English Language Instruction program. Tasks include receiving and processing referrals, coordinating appointments, verifying eligibility, conducting intake sessions, identifying and arranging required support services, and placing individuals in the appropriate courses.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitates a smooth enrollment process for incoming refugee clients, ensuring all eligible clients are enrolled in the appropriate services in a timely and organized manner.
- Processes referrals, reaching out to refugee clients to confirm eligibility and schedule appointments for registration.
- Conducts intake sessions, completing all required intake documentation, providing necessary information and orientation to clients, and creating casefiles to document all services provided.
- Conducts placement testing including the BEST Plus and General Skills Assessment to determine class placements.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bilingual – Spanish, Arabic, Dari, Pashtu, Arabic, Swahili, French
- Reliable transportation: Requires offsite visits to classrooms at various locations
- Associate Degree preferred
- Advanced computer skills
- Experience in Social Work

The base salary range for this position is $20.23/hour., excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final salary will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future salary growth.
