Job Summary:
The Administrative Assistant supports the Mental Health Program Manager with coordination, monitoring, and documentation of activities related to the administration of Fort Bend County Opioid Settlement Funds awarded to the Health and Human Services (HHS) Department. This temporary contract position plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with guidelines, managing reporting deadlines, facilitating interdepartmental communication, maintaining detailed records, and supporting program implementation aimed at addressing opioid misuse and behavioral health initiatives.
The Administrative Assistant supports the Mental Health Program Manager with coordination, monitoring, and documentation of activities related to the administration of Fort Bend County Opioid Settlement Funds awarded to the Health and Human Services (HHS) Department. This temporary contract position plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with guidelines, managing reporting deadlines, facilitating interdepartmental communication, maintaining detailed records, and supporting program implementation aimed at addressing opioid misuse and behavioral health initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day administrative support for the planning, implementation, and tracking of opioid settlement-funded activities.
- Coordinate and document meetings, training, professional development, and stakeholder engagement activities related to opioid prevention, treatment, recovery, and harm reduction.
- Collaborate with program staff and community partners to ensure performance metrics and documentation align with approved scopes of work and project timelines.
- Facilitate the procurement, inventory management, and distribution of Naloxone and public health education resources for community outreach and overdose prevention efforts.
- Assist with the preparation, organization, and submission of reports, financial documentation, and evaluation materials.
- Track expenditures, invoices, and budget allocations in alignment with funding guidelines and ensure timely processing.
- Maintain organized records of all activities, contracts, service provider agreements, and deliverables.
- Support internal and external communications regarding opioid settlement initiatives, including preparing agendas, presentations, meeting minutes, and community outreach materials, including public-facing materials such as health education brochures and opioid awareness messaging.
- Monitor compliance with regulations and funding requirements.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and partner agencies as needed to ensure the timely implementation of opioid-related services and programs.
- Serve as a point of contact for inquiries and updates related to opioid settlement initiatives
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Associate degree preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in public health, Business Administration, Human Services, or related field strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Experience with administrative or program coordination, preferably in public health, behavioral health, or government-funded programs strongly preferred.
- Experience with grant administration or financial tracking is strongly preferred.
- Occasional evening and weekend hours will be required.

In the spirit of pay transparency, we want to share the base hourly pay rate for this position is $25.00 per hr, not including benefits, potential bonuses or additional compensation. If you are hired, your base salary will be determined based on factors such as individual skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location. In addition, we also believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical to allow for future & continued salary growth.
