General Description: The Accounts Payable Supervisor will oversee the accounts payable team and direct the processing of invoices and payments.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage, train, and develop staff on routine AP matters, special projects, accounting procedures, and company policies.
• Interview prospective employees and choose the best applicant based on skills, knowledge and abilities required for the job.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
• Ensures correct payments are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
• Develops guidelines for proper handling and coding invoices to maintain general ledge expense account and inventory records.
• Analyzes expense reports and other invoices for accuracy and eligibility for payment.
• Verifies payments before CFO’s signature is added by reviewing checks and vouches.
• Reconciles accounts payable total and general ledge with other applicable records (e.g., subsidiary vendors’ ledger)
• Communicate effectively with vendors to resolve any issues or discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Ensures proper recordkeeping of purchases for use in tax preparation and periodic audits.
• Ensure employer identification numbers or social security numbers have been collected from all vendors to prepare and submit 1099s each year.
• Ensures proper maintenance, filing and storage in case of audits.
• Partner with the accounting team, providing guidance and support as needed.
• Ensures compliance with all relevant laws and regulations and maintain accurate records.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business Administration, with one year of experience in an accounting office; or 3-4 years of accounting experience with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
