Job Description:
This position will provide financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data; preparing reports, assisting with the general ledger, record payments and disbursements, reconcile account balances, work with external auditors; provide technical accounting support in the areas of accounts payable, payroll, accounts receivable and maintain accounts of all municipal financial transactions, ensuring compliance with all financial policies and procedures in the Finance Department
Responsibilities:
• Prepares asset, liability, and capital account journal entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
• Analyzes and reports all transactions related to courts, business permits, business licenses, grants revenues, property taxes, events revenues, utility services, and all other revenues for the city.
• Analyzes the budget, moving of funds, and adjustments of transactions; makes budget line-item adjustments and budget amendments of all departments
• Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends
Qualifications and Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, Master’s degree desirable
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in accounting or finance
• Experience with financial reporting requirements
• Background in local government and knowledge of governmental accounting
• Pre-employment background check and drug screen

The base salary range for this position is $25.14 per hour, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final salary will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future salary growth.
